To strengthen our online communication, we are looking for a motivated intern who wants to help build the visibility of our organisation.
About the internship
As a Digital Content Creation & Communication intern at M HKA, you’ll work closely with our social media manager as part of the marketing and communications team. You’ll support us in devising, creating, designing and editing visual content that really works on social media – from Instagram Reels and TikToks to story templates and carousels. So no print work here, just creative, visually striking digital formats that make people stop scrolling.
What will you be doing?
During your internship, you’ll be an active member of the marketing and communications team (Audience development and engagement department) and will have the opportunity to explore various aspects of cultural communications:
Developing and planning strong visual content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube (photos and videos).
Helping to devise and implement creative concepts and campaigns for new exhibitions.
Editing and producing videos (such as Reels, TikToks, behind-the-scenes footage, artist takeovers, etc.).
Helping to build a consistent look and feel for the M HKA’s social media channels.
Copywriting for social media, newsletters and the website
Conducting research into new audience strategies and digital communication channels to reach new target groups
Monitoring trends on social media and translating these into relevant content and formats for M HKA
Supporting day-to-day communication operations
Who are we looking for?
You are currently studying or hold a degree in Communication, Digital Content Creation, Journalism, Art Studies, Cultural Management, Marketing / Digital Media or a similar field
You have an affinity with contemporary art and culture
You are a natural storyteller
You write fluently in Dutch and English (French is an advantage)
You are creative, independent, meticulous and take the initiative.
You are familiar with social media, know what content works on which platform and keep a close eye on developments in the digital field (such as the use of AI, the emergence of new social media platforms, changes in user behaviour, etc.)
You have a visual mindset and are creative – you can quickly see how a concept can be translated into visuals
You have experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva…
Experience with video editing in CapCut or (other mobile editing apps), photography, video or motion design is an asset.
Previous experience in content creation (personal or professional) is a plus.
